LifeSpeak Inc. is committed to preserving and safeguarding your right to privacy. As part of this commitment, we want you to be fully aware of what happens to the personal information we collect through your use of our website (the "Site"). Accordingly, this Privacy Policy sets out the manner in which we will collect, use, disclose and otherwise manage your personal information.

As used here, "LifeSpeak Inc." means LifeSpeak Inc. and where appropriate, its affiliated organizations, such as LifeSpeak USA Inc.

What Do We Collect?

LifeSpeak Inc. collects the personal information you provide us, such as your name and e-mail address when you:
• Create a personal account
• Register on the Site or participate in a related LifeSpeak program;
• Participate in a contest;
• Add a video to a playlist;
• Request our e-mail communications; or
• Provide us with comments or suggestions.

We also may automatically collect general anonymous information related to your use of our Site, such as the date and time you visit the Site and the pages you visit on the Site as well as collecting "cookie" information from your browser to identify your computer and provide us with a record of your visits to our Site (collectively, "Usage Data"). The technology used to gather "cookie" information is provided by the Internet browser you use and may be turned off by using your browser preference buttons.

LifeSpeak Inc. tracks which videos are watched for analysis and reporting purposes. Users who log into the Site with their client password only enjoy anonymous activity on the Site as we cannot know which videos they watch. In such cases, we report only that the video was watched under the client’s instance of LifeSpeak. For users who sign in to the Site using their personal account, if they have chosen to create one (note: some clients do not allow the creation of personal accounts ), LifeSpeak tracks the specific videos they watch. However, we do not share that information with their employer or any third parties, except as outlined in the “Your Data and Third-Parties” section of this Privacy and Legal Notice.

Google Analytics cookies are used to collect information about how visitors use our Site. We use this information to compile reports and to help us improve the Site. The cookies collect information in an anonymous form, including the number of visitors to the Site, from where visitors have come to the Site, and the pages they visited. To opt-out of these cookies, visit Google.

LogRocket cookies are used to help us log errors and collect generic user experience data. All data collected through our use of LogRocket has been anonymized at the source (client device), using LogRocket's own data privacy tools. No personal information is ever sent over the network. LogRocket is GDPR compliant. For more information on LogRocket, you can visit https://docs.logrocket.com/docs/security

If you disable cookies, your ability to use some features of the Website may be limited, or you may need to sign in to the system each time you visit.

What do we use the data for?

Except as otherwise stated, we may use your information to improve the content and experience of our site, to customize the site to your preferences and to communicate information to you for our marketing and research purposes.

LifeSpeak Inc. uses the personal information that you provide to us for such purposes as responding to your requests and communicating with you (e.g. providing you with e-mails, newsletters or other information you request); and providing personalized functionality, such as watchlists, recommendations for other videos to watch, and helping with next steps after you’ve watched a video, such as taking an iQ quiz. The Usage Data helps us to understand how our Site is used (e.g. which pages or sections are most popular and when the peak activity times occur) and to assist us in planning for future improvements to the Site to better meet our visitors’ needs.

We do not use your data to make automated decisions.

Your Data and Third-Parties

Except as set out in this policy, LifeSpeak Inc. will not sell, transfer or otherwise disclose any of your personal information to any third party without your consent. We must provide your personal information in response to a search warrant or other legally valid inquiry or order to an investigative body in the case of a breach of an agreement or contravention of law, or as otherwise required by law.

Except for instances where your employer is requiring you to watch LifeSpeak videos and/or take an iQ quiz, or you have entered the site by inputting a personal identifier such as your employee number, we will not report back to your employer on individual data—what you watched, when you watched it, or how often you watched it. We will provide your employer with aggregate data about your company as a whole, such as how many videos your entire company watched in a given period. For contests on our site, such as Watch and Wins, your employer will be notified of who the winner is, but unless otherwise stated, no other personally identifiable information will be provided to your employer, such as what video was watched by any given individual.

In certain instances, we may make your information available to third parties with whom we have a relationship where that third party is providing services on our behalf. We will only provide those third parties with information that is necessary for them to perform the services and we take measures to protect your information. We use third-party video serving companies, Brightcove and Amazon Web Services, to stream our video content to you, but your personal information is not sent to them. We also work with a third-party data center hosting company, JIG Technologies, but they do not have access to your personal data. Only a few LifeSpeak employees with a need to have access to the database have access to any personal data.

E-mail Security

LifeSpeak Inc.’s Web site offers opportunities to communicate with others by e-mail. Because normal e-mail is not encrypted, the possibility exists that unauthorized individuals may intercept e-mail messages. LifeSpeak Inc. is not responsible for the privacy of e-mail messages except those stored in our system.

LifeSpeak Inc. would never ask for personal information such as social security numbers or bank account information through email communications.

Other Important Things You Should Know about Your Data

We will maintain your personal information in secure data storage to safeguard it from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. We will only keep your personal information for as long as it remains necessary or relevant for the purposes stated above or as required by law.

The personal data that you supply to us is securely housed in Canada.

What's the difference?

What’s the difference between personal and group account?

  • A personal account provides you with CONFIDENTIAL use of the system while still allowing LifeSpeak to personalize your experience, give you credit for watching videos for points at your organization (if applicable), and saving playlists for you. You will know ahead of time if any activity is provided to your organization for purposes of giving you credit for watching content. No other data is shared with your organization or any third party.

  • A group account allows you both ANONYMOUS and CONFIDENTIAL interaction with LifeSpeak. Everyone at your organization uses the same group account credentials, hence the anonymity.

The same form was submitted twice

We work hard to make our site secure, and one of the ways we do this is by ensuring that every form submitted was sent by one of our users. You appear to have submitted a login form twice, often caused by pressing a back button and resubmitting data, and as a result we could not verify your submission.
